Aviation Group plc (CTC) has been awarded the contract to provide B737NG
type rating training for spiceJet’s rapidly growing pilot workforce.
India’s preferred airline currently has a fleet of 25 B737NG aircraft
and a further 45 on order and committed. spiceJet selected CTC’s
Rockwell Collins B737NG next generation ‘CORE’ simulation to complete
the type rating training for their pilots because of the training
organisation’s reputation for delivering a high quality and flexible
service.spiceJet’s CEO Neil Mills, formerly of flydubai and easyJet, worked
extensively with CTC in his previous roles and selected the company
based on his past experiences.
The first 10 pilots commenced their training in December 2010 and
January 2011 at CTC’s Boeing and Airbus simulator centre located on the
south coast of the UK, within easy reach of Heathrow.CTC Executive Director and Head of Training Captain Mike Redrupp said

agreement, together with the achievement of Indian DGCA approval will
serve to reinforce the strong position we hold in the Indian market. …”
